OpenBet and Veikkaus agree partnership
Supplier OpenBet has announced a partnership with Finland’s Government-owned betting operator Veikkaus.
As part of the deal， which is a four-year agreement， OpenBet’s technology will power the Veikkaus sportsbook platform， additionally providing its Managed Trading Services.
Towards the end of October， the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) issued a statement welcoming plans for Finland to overhaul its current online gambling monopoly， after the Ministry of the Interior of Finland announced a legislative project to introduce a licence system for online gambling.
As such， Finland is moving towards a more inclusive betting system， allowing private companies to apply for sports betting and iGaming licences; Veikkaus will be using OpenBet’s solution to help with this transition.
